Hummingbird Bakery

Salam & Hi!

A must go bakery in London ............. The Hummingbird Bakery

I was walking down Portobello Market, when i 'bumped' into this lovely bakery. AHAA! I know this bakery!!

Picture taken from the webpage itself.
*I totally forgot about taking picture of the bakery*

Went inside, looked around.... and spot the RED VELVET! So i bought red velvet & tiramisu cupcakes.

They were both YUMMY! *teary..... worth every euro converted into pound, plus the bank withdrawing charge* The BEST red velvet i've tasted so far!

Gonna hunt the bakery again... Hopefully, TODAY! ^^

p/s: i can get sooo giddy with delicious gateux!
p/s: Ninie, i berani kerat jari on tis one! ^^
p/s: Gonna have red valvet(s) again when you are in London!

New Playlist

Salam & Hi!

I was watching Malay wedding videos when i heard this one nice song. Humming to it..., then i feel like checking whos the singer.

 Maliq & D'Essentials. oowwhh..

Who again??

I typed the name on youtube search, and pop came the playlist... Listening to their songs for 2 days already. Pretty good. Their songs kinda remind me of KRU and those Malay boybands when i was a kid.

Where is Snowdonia?

Salam & Hi!

Anyone up for a "Back-to-Nature" getaway trip?!

........................ I DO!

Mom told me bout this Snowdonia (sounds Fairytale-ish much aite?) in North-Wales. She knew bout this from a friend of hers who is now staying in Warwick, went there last Spring, took loottssaaa breathtaking pictures and uploaded them up. (simply, she knew about this from Facebook) ngee*

So i went to look up for it.. Snowdonia hey? A mountain? Is it snowing?..still?....all around the year??

But look what i found!

Rack Railway to the Summit yo! Its a must i tell ya... I wanna go NOW! (There goes my Freudian's Id! you know... humans always want something, and they want it immediately kinda theory? Perhaps its true..)

Bringing The Best Out Of Them

Salam & Hi!

Maybe i was out-dated, cuz i believe many people already knew about tis.

Anywhooo......

Its amazing (REALLY!) how tis young mother could teach her son and daughter to memorize Surahs of the Quran at the very early age. Watch the video below.. I promise you will feel sooooo overwhelmed! Subhanallah.

See more to be inspired more.. Here is the mother's BLOG

I think the mother has inspired me in such (at least, at this stage), to set a dream to one day be just like her in educating my children. *man thats tough! but believe...nothing is impossible* Insya-Allah.

Its nothing much more blessing for a mother than to see her children are all successful...in any ways.  And  plus, Islam promises a good child is the parents' share for the Akhirah. As well, the doa made by a good child for the parents will always be accepted.

Reading the mother's blog, made me understand, why mothers always want the best out of their children. Also, i understand a lil more why parents (rather than focusing on mothers only) are always trying their best to give as proper education as possible for their children, so that... (up to a point where) no schools, no universities, even no working companies will ever want to turn down their child's application. Well, thats how world operates today, really! The best man wins!

p/s: And to prove how parents are concern about their child's education, the baby-educating toy company profits billions per year.

People Whom I Stalk (Everyday)

Salam & Hi!

Err... I think the post title is somewhat too honest? Dont bother. Just keep reading. I'm not doing crime here, nor am i teaching you to become a stalker!

In this process of growing up (i AM still really so very young) i am in the phase of learning.. Is learning the right word? Or searching for identity? Or simply wanting to know how others live their life? Well, whatever it is, the root of it is i follow up these people everyday.. Blog, twitter, facebook or even on youtube. *apa nak jadi nie?? Scaryyyyy~* Neyyh, i think everydody stalks! Right? >.<

1. Wardina Safiyya

She is a good role model! So yeah. Worth stalking! =P I like how she thinks and acts. She has the kinda thinking that is applicable to my generation i would say. Its proven! when, people around my age, adore her that much.

Blog

2. Vivy Yusof

Thanks to Ninie, a blogger & a bestfriend of mine, who introduced me to proudduck. Now it has become my daily essential! I admire how hardworking Vivy is in living her life and how she always wants the best out of everything.

3. Amena

Thanks to her, I know how to wear my shawl (apart crediting my sister).  She is the founder of PearlDaisy  , an online shopping webpage, selling hijabs and clothing. But i know her from her hijab tutorials on her youtube channel, which from where i learn different styles of wearing the hijab (apparently, i only wear the same old style).

4. Hana Fedora

I'm blaming Ninie again! This was also her suggestion. We both like reading what Hana Fedora has to say about her married life. Plus, she is a mom now!

5. Dr. Halina SMS

She is an anesthetic (was a medical student like i am now, and a doctor like i will be in the future!) and barely a supermommy (me in the future as well, amiin..)!  I like reading her blog because she always talks about her lil baby girl, Bella. Awww... Reading her blog always an awe moment. I'll go "awwww" for almost every paragraph and to almost every picture on her blog

6. Diana Rikasari

Credit to Aqilah, a blogger & a dear childhood (or name any -hood too) friend,  because introducing hot chocolate & mint almost 3 years ago! This was actually the first blog i addicted to. I like how Diana is sooo creative in her pictures (i strongly believe she edits her own pictures) and in her writings! As well, she proves passion is the key to success! I witness the progress of her shoe company called UP!

Think i should stop now before someone gets freaked-out by the amount of people i stalk per day!

Salam & Hi..

How come i missed tis? It was in Dublin last week!

Well, Ben & Jerry's is, and will FOREVER be my FAVOURITE ice-cream brand! Try out the various flavors, they are all YUMMY!! *berani kerat jari* My favourite so far is Coconutterly Fair. I have always love the combination of coconut and choc!

Worried whether or not the ice cream is Halal? Ben & Jerry's is made for vegetarians. So, the answer is YES!

Immersed by the flavor.. =P

I have influenced my sister to like Ben & Jerry's too!

Tips from Aunt

Salam & Hi!

So here is the list of tips she gave me:

STUDIES

1. Read before entering lectures
2. No point leaving the lecture if you did not understand what the lecturer has said
3. Read proper text (She suggested, wake up for Tahajud and read the toughest subject.. It will be hard at the beginning.. Will feel soo sleepy, but keep on doin it till it eventually becomes a habit.. The best time to read is in the morning... Pure Peaceful & Barakah)
4. Make short notes for future revision ( Especially in Medicine, as it requires memorization! Lottsss of it!)
5. Teach others / Study in a group
6. Seek the lecturers when feeling uncertain upon...anything! (Free Teacher's Blessing)
7. Make doa!

* AFTER studying, AFTER developing a good relationship with Allah, AFTER putting lotsssaaa effort!

Make doa to Allah for guidance,

"Oh Allah, show me what will be asked in the exam......
i) by moving my instinct
ii) from a discussion among study group mates
iii) from a question asked by a friend
iv) hints by the lecturers
Amiin."

8. Only study from the short notes the night before exam
9. Make plans for the whole semester, few days before starting the new semester
10. Ask parents to make doa before each paper

MAINTAIN A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH ALLAH

1. Wake up for Tahajud (talk to Allah... Tell everything that is bothering the mind and soul)
2. Read the Quran (even half a page per day!)
3. Make "serious" doa after each prayer (spend a lil bit of time, ask from Allah)

Truly from my beloved aunt~

I know some people will think these tips are somewhat, common... But as for me, i dont find they are that common after finding the first two papers was soo difficult. And i was about to lose hope! Thats when i realised i was too far from Allah.
And the most eye opening situation was when i did not realised that the last question on Cardiac paper was the one that i had been memorizing the answer for ages.., until the last 10 mins before times up! The feeling was too horrible.

p/s: My aunt was the Best Student back in her uni, i dunno where.. for sure in the States. She was nominated by TWO of her lecturers for that award. I got to know about this from my mom. =)

Children & Future Society

Salam & Hi!

The other day, i was watching a video from Nouman Ali Khan, entitle Of Aliens & Priorities. He highlighted that we are always concern on the tiny things when there are, a lot more SERIOUS, SOCIETY DAMAGING issues to be dealt with. The example he gave was, rather than questioning about the existence of aliens and whether or not to celebrate the birthday of Prophet s.a.w., we neglected there are youngsters who are using drugs!  Which i kinda agree with.

In the video, what he is mainly trying to say is, there are a lot of Potential Muslims with Potential Intellects. So why not maximise the potential by exploring within the area of expertise and come out with something that is beneficial to the society. AGAIN! He is right!

I came to think of this seriously.. And to be honest, i dont know whether i still wanna become a Dermatologist. I have been so interested in children's development lately. Why? Because i think we can make serious improvement to the society by intervene the children development. Good upbringings, great future human beings!

Therefore, i have decided to make some simple researches and do some readings to get to know about this matter more.

Non Strategized Exam Prep

Salam & Hi!

Declaration : Finished First Year Med. Alhamdulillah...!

Exam week was tough tho. At least for me, i dunno how others think. Sadly because, lacking of strategy. You see, medicine is just crazy. I knew exam was coming. I started studying even a month before. But i studied WITHOUT strategy. The only thing i wanted was to cramp everything in, as much as possible!

A week before the exams starts, my self-confidence rose like a space rocket! I've covered most of everything already. *thats the disgusted proud part of me* And after the first paper, thats the thing that i regretted most! After the second paper, i LOST hope! *jumping from the 1000000th floor*

True Story : I memorized the whole essay on Cardiac Output (because that was one of the main themes in cardiac biology). I was pretty confident i understood it well. And you know what happened in exam hall? ppooofff! I did not even see the question was asking about Cardiac Output until the last 10 mins!!!!!
Astaghfirullahaladzim....

I came back feeling so hopeless... Because, i stayed up all night before cardiac paper, and cardiac biology was the subject that i covered every physiology part of it a week before exam! I can feel my neck stiffen and i feel like vomitting when i ate my lunch and dinner. *STRESS LEVEL 1000000*

However, Thanks to Allah, my aunt came to Dublin for work. She invited me to spend a night with her at the hotel. I had the wonderful chat ever with her. Everything make sense to me.

I will talk about the conversation wit my aunt later. Because it is sooooo SPECIAL! ^^

The last 3 weeks was awesome! Alhamdulillah.. New places, new experiences, new knowledge, meeting new friends... ^__^

Right after i finished my finals, i was off to the UK for two weeks! The trip was not soo well-planned, thus it caused me more pounds than it should! *sobs sobs*

#IMPORTANT TIPS EVA

Plan ur trip thoroughly! Plan EVERYTHING! i mean it...EVERYTHING! from what time you gonna wake up in da morning (if u can! ngee*), wuts for breakfasts, where to go, how to travel from one place to another within the city, lunches, dinners, even what to buy! Plan at least 2 months earlier.

BATH

Luckily i had Alifah (and Almaz too) there waiting for our arrival.

They prepared us a fansy supper! yummmm~

Spent the whole next day walking in Bath city. Thanks to, Bath City Forever Tourist Guide: Alifah & CK!  They've been showing around Bath City for 3 consecutive days.

LONDON TUBE

London Tube was soo confusing at first.. and scary.... But after a week, i think.... I got used to it.  At least i know how to read the map! To those staying in London for a more than 3 days.. Might get yourself an oyster card. Its a blue, 'touch-and-go' kinda card, where you can top up and just use it. Cheaper if you travel by tube a lot.

BOXING DAY

Gaaahhh! Shoppping spree...! Everything is discounted on Boxing Day. People will be pushing and grabbing, and trust me.. Unless you already have targeted items, just go once to get the experience. *maybe i'll change my mind when i have extra money for shopping.. who knows.. cuz then, i can grab whatever i like!* But for now, i think New Year Sale offers better prices! Cuz everything unsold on Boxing Day (which is a day after Xmas) will be brought forward to New Year Sale. =P
