Ramadan Day 7

Salam & Hi.

Ramadan's Chronicles - Day 7

My short notes:

1. Fragility is not a weakness. Fragility is a way of humility.
- We can be ignorant and fragile among people, but we can be knowledgeable and strong with the help of God
- We as humans need physical protection & psychological protection
- Do not pretend to be strong within our family or community, when we are not
- Our problem: Lack of trust among family members / community to speak about our weaknesses
- Do not avoid our weaknesses but talk about it, deal with it, turn it into a powerful spiritual meaning (weakness keeps us humble, gain trust within loved ones)
- We need the presence of the people who can help us to protect ourselves from our own fragility, people whom we can trust
- We need Allah to deal with our fragility
- Find the people whom we can talk about our fragility, and whom with all their heart wanna help us to transform our fragility into qualities and humility.

Ramadan Kareem.

Ramadan Day 5

Salam & Hi!

Ramadan's Chronicles - Day 5

My short notes:

1. Muhammad pbuh: a conciliator and a man of peace
- always try to make peace / be a conciliator for other people
- Peace tranquility is greater than power obsession (over money & reputation)
- Respecting the hope and the aspiration of everyone, but at the same time try to make peace (characteristic of a good conciliator)
- The Believers are sisters & brothers in Islam... to achieve this, we all must be Active and Committed to create this sisterhood & brotherhood bond
- Spread peace
- To be at peace is the best
- To achieve the inner peace... Spread peace, be a conciliator

2. Ask these questions..
- Which way in our life are we spreading peace?
- Are we at the level where, when people are looking at us they can see we are spreading peace?

Happy Ramadan!

Ramadan Day 3

Salam & Hi!

Ramadan's Chronicles - Day 3

My short notes:

1. Trustworthy
 - a trusted person is a person who will be able to help other people
(people will have no doubt to share their problems/deep secrets)
(whoever help other believer/human, Allah will protect him/her in hereafter)
- to be able to listen to other people
- gain the respect (speak the truth & be trustworthy)
- Help other people to be better (do not be judgmental
- While helping a person, rely on Allah for the result, at same time... be a good companion for the person we are helping (do not betray the trust given)
- Community now needs more truthful people (leaders, companions) in order to built a more spiritual community
- Do not pretend to be good, but instead TRY to be good

2. Ask question...
- Am i giving the people around me humanity (a person that they can trust) ?
- Who are the people i'm trusting? Why?

3. Put full trust in Allah and at the same time, we hope the people around us can put some trust in us.

May the blessings of Allah shower on us!

What is Ramadan?

Salam & Hi.

Salam Ramadan!

Masya-Allah, Sister Amena has successfully explained Ramadan in a very simple way with these two videos. And her advises was Subhanallah, very subtle indeed.

My short notes:

1. Make a CONSCIOUS EFFORT to cleanse ourselves, purify our heart, correct our manners, discipline (words & actions)
2. Hence, improve Iman & Faith
3. During Ramadan, our patience is tested (habits prevented, eg: hungry --> eat, unsatisfied with somebody --> complain/gossip) , but to prevent these needs an EFFORT.. Therefore Ramadan is a good time to start resisting our bad habits. *oucchy*
4. Extra remembrance of Allah (hunger & thirst are our CONSTANT REMINDER that we are fasting to please Allah)
5. Everything unhealthy for us is not permitted in Islam (do not eat too much till lost concentration & motivation during prayer)
6. Recite Subhanallah, Lailahaillah & Salawat upon Rasulullah during free time
7. Ramadan supposed to be helping us to carry on the journey towards becoming a better person, as the journey to improve iman & faith never ends.. We (always) are poor in many ways.
8. Constantly remind ourselves with death.

Ramadan Day 2

Salam & Hi!

Ramadan's Chronicles - Day 2

1. Be truthful
- listen to others
- be true to our words (respect our words)
- try to keep our words true
- speak the truth

2. Best character & manner must be appreciated & celebrated
- Islam is telling us to deal with our nature with 2 ways:
dark nature -> improve, master & control it
good nature -> celebrate, improve & keep it

3. Check your tongue
- be careful with what we are saying
- SPEAK LESS (will be more able to master what we are saying, to keep the words close to the truth, and to avoid lies)

Ramadan Mubarak!

Ramadan Day 1

Salam & Hi!

Ramadan's Chronicles - Day 1

My Short Notes:

1. Acknowledge natural desire (perfect example for this Ramadan is our desire to eat & drink)
- Allah swt. makes desire and life attractive to humans
- Thus, do not feel guilt when we are attracted to desire
- and Do not deny it!

Instead...

2. Master the desire by education, to be able to CONTROL it.
- By knowledge & education (example: Ramadan is the perfect school to control eating desire)
- Do not nurture the sense of guilt but educate ourselves towards the quest to the Devine.
- There is dignity in the way we have been created, but our dignity it not to be driven by our natural desire but must be driven for a quest to search for the truth.

3. Improve ourselves, Educated our heart, Master our body, Be educated ourselves with knowledge.

Happy Ramadan!

Bon Ramadan a tous!

Salam & Hi!

Ramadan is here again. Alhamdulillah. How time flies! I'm 21, and i'm proud to see my generation (peers) are viewing Ramadan beyond just fasting and performing Tarawikh in the mosque. This has made me too, to ponder upon myself. How do i view my Ramadan?

To find the answer will not be purely from myself. I believe, it needs some effort.

Praise be to Allah, Prof Tariq Ramadan will be posting short Ramadan recordings entitled Ramadan's Chronicles, everyday during this holy month. He will talk about the qualities of the Messager; Muhammad pbuh. Prof Tariq Ramadan speaks with easy words, i'm sure we will be able to understand. Insya-Allah.

Ramadan's Chronicles-Introduction

Short Notes form the first recording:

1. Take a good care of ourselves...  Mostly take a very good care of our Heart, Mind & Body
- give time to ponder about life
- strive for a better life
- be generous, be forgiving

2. Serve people around us.
 - Tell people we love that we love them

Ramadan Kareem everyone!
